WebSep 19, 2024 · In our study, six genera including Aureobasidium, Candida, Cryptococcus, Hanseniaspora, Pichia, and Rhodotorula were isolated in samples from at least seven provinces. These genera accounted for 90.05% of the total isolates identified. WebC. terreus formed occasional enlarged cells through a mechanism potentially similar to that of titanization. Our findings suggest that titanization is a rare phenomenon among basidiomycetous yeasts that occurs mostly in members of the C. neoformans/C. gattii species complex.
